Iligan Medical registers early for football cup

ILIGAN City’s fast-rising football power Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) is not only the earliest club to register for the 12th Rosevale Football Cup. It is also fielding probably the most number of teams at 12 in the two-day 7-Aside and 5-Aside tournament in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to their head coach, Allan Aberilla, he is so thankful for the all-out support of the school administration. “Without their support, we cannot send our players to compete in various tournaments like the Rosevale Cup,” he said.

The Rosevale Football Cup will be slated on January 21 to 22.

Already, the IMCC’s investment in football handsomely paid off as the school represented Iligan City in the 2015 Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet in Oroquieta City and in Camiguin this year.

Aberilla also specifically thanked their school sports coordinator and school board member Joseph Picardal for his support.

Picardal’s children are also into football and are members of the school varsity teams.

IMCC has varsity teams in the elementary, high school and college level. They are even offering scholarships starting next school year.

Rosevale Football Cup organizer and Rosevale School head coach Dennis Bongocan confirmed that IMCC has reserved three classrooms to accommodate all the players and the parents. Rosevale is offering free accommodations for out of school teams.

Competition on January 21 will be for 7 Aside Boys Under (U) 18, U16, U14, U12 and Mix Boys and Girls U10 and U8.

On January 22, competitions will be for 7 Aside Boys U17, Boys U15, Boys U13, Boys U11 and Men’s Open. Women’s Open 5-Aside Futsal is also on January 22.
