Valencia drug suspect shot dead

A suspected drug personality was shot to death by an unidentified man at Purok 5, Barangay Balugo in Valencia, Negros Oriental on Friday.

Police identified the victim as Alaine Randy Inoferio Catada, 45, of Purok Patani, Barangay Bong-ao. He was under the drugs watch list of Valencia Municipal Police Station.

Investigation showed that Catada was driving his motorcycle when a lone gunman fired at him around 7 a.m.

Catada sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was brought to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police recovered four fired cartridges of .45 caliber pistol.

In Canlaon City, a farmer was gunned down by unidentified men in Sitio Bayabas, Barangay Lumapao on Friday.

Police identified the fatality as Donnie Bornia, 47, of Sitio Nagalaw, Barangay Codcod in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Investigation showed that Bornia was on his way home past noon when the assailants fired at him.

Bornia was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Also in Canlaon, a retired military man was shot to death inside his nipa hut in Sitio Proper, Barangay Bayog on Thursday.

Dominador Besa Jr., 59, was having dinner when the unidentified assailants fired at him using .45 caliber and .9mm caliber pistols.

Investigators found three bullets of .45 caliber pistol and seven bullets of .9mm caliber pistol./GYM
