A detainee of Ilog Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental ended his life inside the station’s custodial facility on Friday.
Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido, head of Ilog Municipal Police Station, identified the fatality as Caesar Amar, 28, of Purok Masagana, Barangay Tabo.
Amar, who was found dead by the jail officer around 4:30 a.m., hanged himself using a blanket tied to the window. He also wounded himself.
Amar was detained at the police station after he hacked his elder brother inside their house a few days ago.
He was only the inmate detained at the police station, Lobrido said.
Lobrido said Amar was scolded by his mother due to the hacking incident when the latter visited him last Thursday.
Police ruled out foul play.*
