La Salle camps next week for PFF Nat’l U22 tourney

THE road to football dominance is bumpy and Ceres-La Salle Varsity Team representative of Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) begins their training camp next week for the 2017 Philippine Football Federation (PFF)-Smart U22 National Championships in Iloilo.

La Salle head coach Norman Fegidero on Friday said that while waiting for the PFF final schedule, his team needs to return to training.

“We are still waiting for confirmation. I have to gather my team now along with our selection so that they can practice together,” he added.

“My main concern here is that I have selection from San Carlos, Bago and Kabankalan cities. They still have classes, too,” Fegidero said.

Fegidero’s champions earned the ticket to defend Nofa’s national title after dethroning erstwhile titlist San Carlos City FC, 1-0 last year.

The multi-titled Fegidero admitted that lack of championship experience due to absence of competitive tournaments is one of the reasons why his players were short in terms of decision-making.

Their triumph in the 1st Sagay City Men’s Open where they won 2-0 over Ateneo de Manila University was a great help for the team.
