TF Haribon deploys over 1,000 forces for Asean summit

THE Task Force Haribon of the Eastern Mindanao Command (TFH-Easmincom) has deployed over a thousand armed forces for the Asean Summit slated Sunday, January 14.

Easmincom spokesperson Major Ezra Balagtey said the Easmincom held its sendoff ceremony at the Naval Station Felix Apolinario (NSFA) in Panacan, Davao City on Friday.

The sendoff was administered by Joint Task Force Haribon commander Brigadier General Gilbert Gapay, who had encouraged the troops to give their best on the mission.

Balagtey said the armed forces will support the Philippine National Police in securing the launching of the Asean Summit and other related activities here in Davao City.

"The forces deployed comprise of troops and equipment coming from air force, navy and army. It includes Explosive Ordinance Demolition Teams, K-9, medical teams and Quick Reaction Forces," Balagtey said.

He added other assets deployed were armored vehicles, helicopters, ambulances and military trucks necessary in case of emergency.
