It’s been quite a long time when I experienced being in the ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) and wearing that same uniform. I can still remember the feeling of discipline and the kind of respect that I get from other people. I am happy that soldiers now have improved well and are more disciplined. With high hopes and filled with prayers, may all of you remain safe as you perform your duty. I know that when I go back to the province of Surigao I could sleep soundly because I know that we have the soldiers who will ensure our freedom and safety.”

Gawas ni Pechay anaa sab sa programa sila si Mayor Michael Jose Patiño sa Placer, Surigao del Norte; Mayor Cesar Diaz Jr sa Taganaan, Surigao del Norte; Board Member Gilbert Elorde sa Agusan del Sur; Vice Mayor Jenry Montante sa Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte; Mr. Ferdinand Vincent Dy Jr., Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Head, Misamis Oriental, nga mirepresentar ni Governor Yevgeny Vicente Emano; Nena Undag, Lumadnong IP Focal person; ug Milan Sambile gikan sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.

“The training that you have undergone is to prepare you for this day. With the firearms entrusted to you by our stakeholders which you have received, symbolizes your acceptance of the responsibility and commitment to perform your duty to protect our people and our communities at all times. You have agreed to that covenant and it now entails accountability on your part. I hope that you perform well and carry out the professionalism of a Filipino soldier,” tipik sa mensahe ni 4th Infantry Division Commander Benjamin Madrigal Jr. (SVB)
