3 Negros Occidental police chiefs reshuffled

THREE police chiefs in Negros Occidental have been reshuffled.

These are Superintendent Antonietto Cañete, chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, Chief Inspector Gary Alan Resuma, chief of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, and Superintendent Orly Gabinete, chief of La Carlota City Police Station.

Senior Superintendent William Señoron, acting provincial director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said Monday that Cañete was replaced by Chief Inspector Tony Benitez from the Negros Occidental Provincial Public Safety Company (Noppsc) after serving as police chief of Himamaylan City for more than two years.

Cañete will be assigned to the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Negros Island Region (NIR) effective January 16.

Senior Inspector Jerald Muya from Nocppo headquarters will replace Resuma as requested by the Municipal Government. Resuma will be assigned at Nocppo headquarters.

Señoron said Gabinete will be transferred to PRO-Western Visayas upon his request after staying in Negros Occidental for about five years already.

He wanted to go back to Iloilo, Señoron added. However, they are still finalizing the details of the order.

Gabinete and Resuma are still waiting for their relief orders, the Nocppo chief said, adding that another reshuffling of police chiefs will happen soon.
