THE Cebu City Council yesterday authorized the procurement of P13 million worth of various items, services and other expenses for the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).
Councilor Mary Ann delos Santos, who authored the resolution, initially proposed for P30 million to be charged against the Philippine Games and Amusement Corp (Pagcor) funds.
However, the ad hoc committee, in its report, said the items in the requested procurement do not fall under the programs and projects chargeable to Pagcor funds.
Given that the CCMC's 2016 budget was not enough to cover the expenses of the hospital, the committee instead slashed some of the items so as not to compromise the delivery of basic health services.
The approved items include electricity expenses from September to December 2016 worth P2.5 million.
It also includes sanitary services, drugs and medicines, laboratory reagents, fluids, gases, X-ray films, fixer and developers.
