CH readies P146M fund

THE Cebu City Government will build a P146 million worth of evacuation centers in several areas to house residents that will be affected by any kind of calamity.

Councilor Jose Daluz III said the P146 million is part of the approved budget under the annual investment plan (AIP) of the City this year.

But while this developed, Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Chief Nagiel Bañacia said the City will no longer renew some personnel under the emergency medical service (EMS), particularly those assigned in the barangays.

Bañacia said that although other items under CCDRRMO’s funds were increased, there were also others that were slashed, including some program-based items, from which the honoraria for EMS are being charged.

From the P55-million proposal, Bañacia said only P25 million was given to fund their program-based expenses.
