THE Federal Institute of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas Ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) has submitted the final proposal to change the present form of government to President Rodrigo Duterte.

Yves Akol, secretary-general of PDP-Laban in Negros Island Region, said Duterte aims to realize federalism as one of his priorities in 2018.

Akol added that they prefer Constituent Assembly in pushing for federalism.

This because of the flaws they noticed during the time of the President Ferdinand Marcos where Constitutional Convention was preferred in changing the constitution.

Akol said that the members of the Constituent Assembly already have knowledge of the law.

Under the PDP-Laban proposal, the federal government will still have a president to be elected with the prime minister and members of the parliament.
