Razzle dazzle

SINULOG, the grandest festival of the country, came in full swing last week. The fiesta fever was on a high and Islands Souvenirs kicked things up to a new level with Bling It On: Cut and Style 2017.

This is the brand’s biggest Sinulog campaign and now on its fifth year, featuring all-new special edition Sinulog t-shirt designs which wearers have the freedom to basically cut and style.

Staying true to its tradition, the campaign’s highlight was the fashion show. The show was open to the public and took place at The Northwing Atrium in SM City Cebu last Friday, Jan. 13.

The face of this year’s campaign, Miss Cebu 2016 Raine Baljak, walked the runway followed by some of Cebu City’s local personalities comprised of movers and shakers, young entrepreneurs and the creative set as well as Medyo Maldito and Snake Princess, social media sensations. Even adorable two- to eight-year-old tots shared the spotlight as they strutted their stuff in adorable ensembles.

The show also presented the brand’s collaboration with Anthill Fabric Gallery, a cultural and social enterprise  that works to preserve and promote Philippine weaving traditions through modern design application, and internationally renowned creative studio Happy Garaje, for the first time.

Notable fashion designer Cary Santiago is back for the second time, presenting an exclusive collection brimming with vibrant, festive and exceptional designs worn by male and female pageant winners and title holders, including Miss Tourism Queen International 2006 Justine Gabionza, Bb. Pilipinas World 2009 Marie Ann Umali, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2013 Joanna Cindy Miranda, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Santiago, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Janson and Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Ajdani.

Styled in different ways, the show presents to its audience the many possibilities one can do with a tee, paired with some blings to add that extra flair; that and of course, a touch of imagination.
