Davao Chamber of Commerce members now 358

DAVAO City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) reached a total of 358 members as of end of 2016, DCCCII said Saturday, January 14, during the 49th annual installation of DCCCII officers and Board of Trustees.

Immediate past DCCCII president Bonifacio Tan said the significant increase in chamber’s number of membership is a clear manifestation of how dynamic and active the business community in the city.

He said DCCCII only has over 250 members last 2012. Last 2015, chamber’s members is at 332.

Last year, Tan said, is a successful year for DCCCII as it was named by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the most outstanding chamber in Mindanao and Philippines.

Also, DCCCII was shortlisted as one of the finalists for the best local chamber during the confederation of the Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday inducted the new set of officers and trustees.

The new chamber’s set of officers are Ronald Go, president; Antonio dela Cruz, chair; Sofronio Jucutan, executive vice president; Luciano Frederick Puyod III, vice president for trade and commerce; Teresita Pascual, vice president for agribusiness; Wilfred Teves, vice president for industry; Belinda Torres, vice president for professional and service ventures; Yvonne Cabada, corporate secretary and Alvin Pinpin, corporate treasurer. Bonifacio Tan (past president), Arturo Milan, Jennifer Sazon, Jocelyn Romero, Juanito Tagabucba and Antonio Ajero are the new trustees.

Entrepreneurship pushed the newly installed president of DCCCII, Captain Ronald Go, in his speech, vowed to build a better chamber through anchoring entrepreneurship.

He said the chamber’s visions and goals could be realized through entrepreneurship—to attain inclusive growth.

“Entrepreneurs dream the impossible dream, builds an entity for government. I believe in our society we should espouse entrepreneurship to create more jobs, thus creating a strong economy,” he said.

Go underscored of having a Davaoeño President of the Republic as an opportune time to soar the city’s economy.

“Davao is the center of attention for investment and tourism all because of one man standing to fight for change, one man making headway towards nation building. We find ourselves in a very opportune time in our history which we should take advantage. We have our president who is family, a Davaoeño,” Go said.

DCCCII former chair John Gaisano stressed the Davao Chamber is established primarily to help the small medium and micro enterprises to thrive. (ASP)
