Huawei rolls out new phone

HUAWEI Technologies rolled out their latest phone model Huawei GR5 2017, a midrange model and an upgrade of the previous model Huawei GR5 2016.

The phone became available in the Philippines this week.

This is the first smartphone brand available in the country with two rear cameras, a 12 megapixels (MP) and a 2 MP. The 2 MP camera serves as a complementary camera for the 12 MP, assisting to achieve better quality of the image. It can also be used to achieve wider aperture for the photo. The phone is also equipped with an 8 MP front camera.

Huawei Representative Che Lacro said target buyers for the latest model are millennials aged 22 to 35 years old, including those who have recently graduated and the young professionals.

“These groups of consumers are working hard and are following the latest trends in fashion and gadgets made popular by celebrities,” she said

With these target consumers in mind, Lacro said Huawei made their latest phone model fit to the needs, the preference, and the lifestyle of these consumers. She said they made sure the price tag of P13,990 (suggested retail price) of the phone model would match its performance.

Also because this group of consumers might always be on-the-go, Lacro said they made sure the phone does not have freezes and lags. This is made possible by the two processors that the phone model has. Aside from the i5 Coprocessor, the phone is also equipped with Huawei Kirin 655, Octa-Core.

For security purposes, Huawei GR5 2017 also features a fingerprint 3.0 sensor at the back of the phone, located below the camera, which unlocks the phone in less than a second even if your fingers are wet.

Having young professionals as the target buyers in mind, the phone model requires longer battery life. Huawei GR5 2017 offers high-density 3340mAh battery that promises 2-day stand-by time with generic usage.

With 3 gigabytes (GB) RAM and 32 GB ROM, Huawei is confident that they are able to compete side by side with other smartphone brands available in the market today.

Lacro added that this makes their Huawei GR5 2017 edgy given that they offer more than the features that other brands offer and yet the phone price is only at P13,990.

With the phone’s integrated metal case molding available in silver, gold, gray, blue, and pink and a 2.5 dimensional curved glass design, Huawei hopes to attract young buyers who not only looks at the specs and features of a mobile phone but also how stylish it can be.
