DPWH to close Tabunok flyover to motorists

VEHICLES passing through the flyover in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City to reach their destinations may need to take a detour soon as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will partially close the structure within this month so they can conduct maintenance and retrofitting works.

Engr. George Laroa of the DPWH Second Engineering District told SunStar Cebu that the Tabunok flyover badly needs to be maintained after they been receiving complaints from motorists because the structure has deep potholes.

But Laroa clarified that the P20 million maintenance and retrofitting works on the flyover will only last for a week and will be done per lane.

Some netizens reacted to a Facebook post about the potholes and said that these could not be seen right away, especially at night.

Talisay City Engineer Gamaliel Vicente said that a man got hurt when his motorcycle fell into one of the potholes while passing the flyover.
