Drug personality shot dead in Pangasinan

BINMALEY, Pangasinan -- A drug personality was shot dead by four unidentified gunmen on board two motorcycles Friday, January 20, in Barangay Manat in the municipality of Binmaley, Pangasinan.

The victim was identified as Leonard Doria, alias Nards, 47, a cockpit employee from Barangay Linoc.

Doria escaped in the first volley of fires from the suspects who tailed him while he was on board his own Kawasaki Rouser motorcycle in Barangay Manat at 12:30 p.m., Friday.

The victim alighted from his motorcycle and sought refuge in the house of one Angela Tungol of Barangay Manat. He thought he was already safe but still the perpetrators followed and shot him dead inside the house.

After shooting their target, the gunmen left the house leaving Tungol in shock and panic. The woman was not harmed.

Doria sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot. The suspects fled to the west direction where they were pursued by lawmen.

Three fired cartridges and one fired bullet were found by elements of the Scene of the Crime Office from the crime scene.

These will be subjected to ballistic and cross-matching investigations with the evidences found in other earlier crime incidents.

A background investigation by the police on the victim showed that he was in Philippine National Police drug watchlist and a troublemaker.

Investigators hinted he could have developed many enemies in his work at the cockpit. (PNA)
