Laundrywoman yields P300T worth of shabu

Some P300,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a laundrywoman who was a high-value target of the City Intelligence Branch during a buy-bust in Barangay Suba, Cebu City. According to Chief Insp. Cristopher Navida, Sheila Abellana, 36, got her supplies from the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City. She was caught in a buy-bust at 12:15 a.m. yesterday after being placed under surveillance for a month.

Abellana was also linked to Melchor Ocarol, who was caught with P14.8 million worth of shabu in Barangay Pasil last Nov. 8.

Twins, 6 others fall in anti-drug ops in Lapu-lapu

Eight persons, including a wounded drug pusher, were arrested in simultaneous operations of the Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch (CIB) yesterday.

Some P77,000 worth of shabu were seized from the suspects.  At 4:50 a.m., a CIB team arrested Maria Le Sasing, 26; Romeo Edaño, 29, and Armando Carillas, 40, in Sitio Dumpsite, Barangay Mactan. Marilou “Eloy” Labitad, her twin Marilyn and a cohort were also arrested in the same area an hour later.

CIB personnel also caught and wounded Jemel Inoc after he fired his gun during a buy-bust in Bankal at 11 a.m.

PRO 7 Chief Taliño to Bato: we've got your back

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Noli Taliño said they support Police Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who is under fire for the killing of a Korean businessmen inside Camp Crame allegedly by policemen. Taliño said they are intensifying their drive against illegal drugs and validating the presence of drugs in more than 2,000 barangays in the region. PRO 7 units visited 589,263 houses and arrested 4,892 drug personalities, while 105,493 surrendered in Oplan Tokhang from July 1 last year until Jan. 12. There were 153 pushers killed in legitimate police operations.
