'Shabu' in band-aids seized from jail visitor
A SACHET of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) hidden in band-aids was seized from a young woman who visited his boyfriend at the Male Annex Dormitory of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Inspector Mar Louie Salcedo, spokesperson of BJMP-Negros Island Region, identified the suspect as Darlyn Silva, 22, of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The jail officers noticed three band-aids on Silva's right leg, prompting them to remove it, leading to the recovery of illegal drug.
Silva's lover is facing charges for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Salcedo said Silva is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 10 for the filing of appropriate charges.
