CEBU Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Eric Noble has ordered police station chiefs to include boatmen in their Oplan Tokhang operations.
Noble said he wants to prevent drug groups from using boats as the mode of transporting shabu and other contraband.
The CPPO said that there could be shabu laboratories inside bigger boats.
In July last year, law enforcers apprehended a floating shabu laboratory off Subic Bay in Northern Luzon and arrested four of its Chinese crew.
Noble said there are several unregulated boats and entry points in Cebu, making it hard for authorities to guard the coastline.
