Man goes back to old vice after getting job

A DRUG surrenderer that was given with a job by the Lapu-Lapu City Government was arrested in a police operation after he returned to his old ways in Barangay Agus last Wednesday night.

A team from the Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch caught Armando Amistad, 50, a worker of the City-owned material recovery facility (MRF) in Barangay Mactan.

His partner, Wilma Amores, 48, was also arrested for assisting Amistad’s illegal activity past 10 p.m.

CIB identified them as high-value target level 2 for their illegal drug activities.

Senior Insp. Joey Bicoy, who led the operation, said they got a report that the suspect returned to selling shabu, although he already worked in the City’s MRF.

When the City Government provided job to the surrenderers, each of them received an allowance of P250 per day.

Bicoy recovered 32 sachets of suspected shabu worth P15,000, the buy-bust money and another P800 cash from the suspects.
