MISS Universe Pia Wurtzbach is schedule to crown her successor today, January 30, in front fellow Filipinos at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Beauty queens representing 86 countries will compete in the Philippines for the 65th edition of the annual international beauty contest.

The Philippine is represented this year by 26-year-old Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maxine Medina.

The Department of Tourism said 13 contestants will be picked for the first round of the pageant, including the winner of the online voting.

Initially, the jury was asked to choose 12 candidates who stand out among all the ladies and can proceed to the next round of the competition.

The Top 13 will then be narrowed down to six beauty queens who will move on the question and answer portion.

Three candidates with best answers will be selected afterwards.

The host country, Philippines, is expecting a back-to back win. (Sunnex)
