TWO men died while three others were injured in separate shooting incidents in Negros Island on Sunday.

In Negros Occidental, Clarence Pida, 31, died while his three friends, Jenito Malones Jr., 27; Rubin Froilan, 39; and Andy Neofranco, 31, all residents of Victorias City, were injured after they were shot by two unidentified men at Bangga Daan, Barangay 13 in Victorias City.

Investigation showed the victims were having a drinking session around 12:30 p.m. when the assailants, who were seated at the adjacent table, fired at them and fled on a motorcycle.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime two slugs of unknown firearm.

In Negros Oriental, a driver of a “habal-habal” or private motorcycle carrying commuters for a fee was gunned down by unidentified men at Barangay Mabigo, Canlaon City around 7:45 p.m.

Police identified the fatality as Arnold de la Cuesta Palmares, 29.

Palmares was shot by the assailants several times on the chest.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.
