Holy Cross of Davao College women post 2nd win

THE Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) cagebelles grabbed their second win by routing Enderun College Manila, 100-64, in the resumption of the 2nd Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Women's Basketball Invitational at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center late Tuesday afternoon.

Kathlene Gaudiano led HCDC with 26 points including six treys, while Junamae Dajay chipped in 16. Enderun's Kate Marcos made 14 baskets.

HCDC earlier demolished the Lady Blue Knights, 91-40, in the opener Monday behind Kimberly Arajain's 16 points.

Ateneo, however, entered the winning column after thrashing Xavier University, 64-43. Ruby Joy Conson led the charge for Ateneo with 16 points while Jantene Uy added 13.

Enderun College, for its part, posted its first win following a 51-18 rout over the Xavier University on Monday.

Games were being played between HCDC and the cellar dweller Xavier University as of Wednesday, followed by the Ateneo-Enderun College clash. Ateneo and Enderun toted 1-1 card each.

Ateneo head coach Cy Ramintas told Sun.Star Davao in an interview that their game against Enderun will be crucial, as it will determine who will arrange a faceoff against HCDC in the finals set today.

The cagefest is organized by the Addu Athletics Office and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. (RSA)
