Bo’s Coffee set to start brewing abroad in 2017

HOMEGROWN chain Bo’s Coffee is set to open its first overseas store this year in Qatar.

Bo’s Coffee Chairman and President Steve Benitez said his company has secured a deal with Qatari entrepreneurs to operate the country license.

The move to bring the specialty coffee brand abroad is part of the company’s long-term expansion plans. Aside from going abroad, the company is also serious about cementing the brand’s footing in the domestic scene.

Benitez, however, declined to disclose more details of the expansion.

The coffee brand has 80 stores all over the country, mostly in the Visayas and Mindanao. Last year, the company embarked on an aggressive expansion in Metro Manila.

Bo’s Coffee, which started in Cebu in 1996, uses homegrown coffee beans sourced from the rich coffee-growing regions in the Philippines.

“While we promote Bo’s Coffee as a Filipino brand, we are also taking with us other homegrown high-quality products of social entrepreneurs,” said Benitez in past interviews.

Bo’s Coffee outlets also carry Bayani Brew juice, Theo and Philo chocolates, Loudbasstard, and collectibles developed with Anthill Fabric Gallery.
