JUSTIN Baldonado, Elvin Diaz, and Bon Cadagat scored 15 points each to anchor Ice Sports in a 77-70 win over Akasya on Monday to take solo lead of Toby’s Sports Bacolod Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament at the STI West Negros University gym.

Both teams were even at 20 points deadlock as Baldonado and Shem Claridad delivered eight markers for Ice Sports while Christian Crisostomo had 10 for Akasya.

Akasya pulled away with a 24-15 run in the second quarter behind Mark Velez and Paolo Cuenca’s and booked a 44-35 advantage at the half as Diaz rallied with 10 markers for Ice Sports.

Defense was Ice Sports plan as it held Akasya to 13 points while pouring in 18 to cut the deficit to 53-57 ahead for the payoff quarter. Joemar Gilbor fired eight as Cadagat added six for Ice Sports while Arturo Cuaresma got seven points for Akasya.

Cadagat sizzled in the fourth with nine points, including a triple as Baldonado hit seven markers to spearhead Ice Sports comeback game while Carlo Pelingon had seven for Akasya.

In the other match, Marte Sellado sizzled for 19 points, 10 in the opening quarter, to lead Capitol in an 84-76 victory over POC. (HGD)
