Bacolod City gov’t forms advisory council

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia has issued Executive Order No. 26 constituting the Citizens’ Involvement in Government Action Executive Advisory Council (CIGAEAC).

Executive Assistant Sammy Montoyo, CIGAEAC action officer, said he received the order Friday and he was tasked to ensure that the policy recommendations and activities of CIGAEAC are transmitted to the City Mayor's Office.

The CIGAEAC shall be composed of five to eleven private citizens, all of whom shall be drawn from competent and capable members of relevant or pertinent non-governmental organization such as civic clubs/associations, and shall serve on purely pro bono basis.

CIGAEAC members are Wennie Sancho of General Alliance of Workers Inc.; Allen Grajo of Urban Poor and Business and Labor; Jimmy Basal of Couples for Christ; Atty. Mila Moya of Circulo de Negros; Pacita Adeva of Negros Occidental Garden Club; Fr.Mao Buenafe of Sum-ag Parish; Alan Gozon of Democratic Association of Labor Organizations; Jovito Berdin of Tripartite Industrial Peace Council; Eduardo Villanueva of Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations, JCI Senate Philippines Inc; Gilda Puey of Bacolod Cultural Foundation; and Eli Jan Gumabong of Kiwanis International.

The CIGAEAC may secure information and technical expertise from government agencies relevant and pertinent to its specific mandates.
