A 74-YEAR-OLD woman was injured after she was trapped inside her house hit by fire around 1:25 a.m. at Barangay Zone 4 in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Sunday.

Inspector Gregorio Otico III, fire marshal of Bureau of Fire Protection-Cadiz, identified the victim as Irene Jaranilla, owner of the house, where the fire started.

Jaranilla sustained second degree burns. She was not able to leave the house immediately because the door was locked. She was brought to a hospital.

The fire, which was put out at 2:46 a.m., destroyed eight and damaged two houses.

It left an estimated damage of P500,000 worth of properties.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire.
