Class 90, 99, 2000 up take NOHSAAI Bowling titles

NO NEED for their edge in the ladder finals as Classes 1990, 1999, and 2000 up took home the top prizes in its respective brackets after just one game on Saturday.

The 2016-17 Negros Occidental High School @ 115 - NOHSAAI “Unity Cup” Bowling Fellowship Season 1 bracket "A" champions C'99 anchored by Richard Secuelan delivered the spares to beat former champion Class ‘96 with a convincing 507-487.

Secuelan outhit Vic Gutierez with four spares on top of pin-to-pin topples to walk away with a 125-108 score.

Class ’96 team captain Cyril Mayordomo’s 111 was not enough to lift his squad as Joemar Baylon’s two successive spares sealed the deal even with a low 102.

First runner-up 1996 earned the right to challenge the top finisher after disposing of eventual second runner-up Class ‘66, 523-505.

Before the cinderella run of Class ‘66 sparked by Edgar Baldonado ended, they defeated higher seeds Class ‘85 with a 505-502 cliffhanger and topping Class ‘94 with 482-475 surprise.

In bracket B, Class ‘90 with Mike Corral leading and bankrolled by Jake Castillano defeated Class ‘80 with enough space, 502-449.

First runner-up ‘80, managed by Dr. Julian Rizaldy Raca Jr. earlier beat higher seed and eventual second runner-up Class ‘87 with a closer than expected 480-467 for a shot in the championship.

In bracket C, the Galvan siblings of 2000 up managed by Thea Gene de Oca dominated Class ‘65 with a 507-422 rout.

First runner-up ‘65 bankrolled by Nora Bascos defeated eventual second runner-up Class ‘88 of Yolanda Larena earlier, 422-410.
