THE Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) is now preparing for a regional amateur boxing competition, which will pit local winners against other winners from the Visayas.
“We decided to hold a regional competition for Central Visayas. Region 6, Region 8 and Negros Island will also have their own qualifying tournaments also,” Sy said.
The Visayas Games is among the top priorities of PSC Commissioner Ramon Fernandez.
“PSC is serious in its effort to find gems from the rest of the country. That is why there is now a Visayas Games, Mindanao Games, Luzon Games and the ultimate Philippine Games, which will pit the champions with the members of the national team. This is going to be an exciting,” said Fernandez.
