A LABORER died after he was stabbed to death by his younger sister at Purok Gumamela, Barangay Binubuhan in Bago City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Police identified the fatality as Randy Araneta, 46.

Investigation showed that Araneta was under the influence of intoxicating liquor when he arrived home around 2:30 p.m.

A confrontation occurred between him and his sister 30-year-old Ramona Tomanday due to the victim’s unruly behavior. Tomanday stabbed Araneta 11 times causing his death.

Araneta, who sustained wounds on his neck, chest, abdomen and left armpit, was brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

In the afternoon, Tomanday voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Tomanday said in an interview with ABS-CBN Bacolod that she protected herself from the unruly behavior of her elder brother.

It was only self defense, she added.

Tomanday is detained at the custodial facility of Bago City Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges.
