Olivar to headline Team Lakay Championship

TEN ACTION packed bouts are expected to heat up the chilly February weather as Team Lakay brings back another exciting mixed martial arts event on February 25 at the Baguio Convention Center.

Undefeated Rizalino Olivar of Team Lakay will headline the Team Lakay Championship 12 that will also feature up and coming fighters from the Cordillera region against some of the best from Visayas, and Mindanao.

Olivar is fresh from an impressive victory against Noy Francisco via a rare naked choke in PXC Laban MMA Baguio last December is set to take on fellow Baguio boy Michael Fangki of Tribal Torogi.

Fangki alos scored a referee’s stoppage victory in the last PXC event held at the Baguio Convention Center edging Dindo Camansa.

Co-headlining the event is architect Mark Tidang who is debuting in competition against veteran Morteza Minbashi from Iran. The two will see action in the 155lbs weight class.

In the undercard, Jaybe Ban-eg of Team Lakay will seek a comeback win against Tribal Torogi’s Mhel Remolar after losing in PXC Laban MMA 5 to Fight Corps MMA’s Lucky Mateo.

Dave Banguigui of Fight Corps MMA and Jahn Serbo of Team lakay La Union will seek to prove their might after winning in the December PXC fight as they will try their formidable skills against Gabriel Andres of Tribal Torogi and Christopher Miguel from Team Kafagway.

It will be a battle of two foreign fighters as Daniel Gwon of Team Lakay La Union who hails from Korea going against Gaza’s Abdullah Sabri, member of Team Lakay La Trinidad in the 115 division.

Aldwin Nicdao of Team Lakay will also see action in the 145lbs against Tribal Torogi’s Jerry Olsim while Xavier Villanueva and Noel Gulod will battle it out against Jhayson Cosme and Vincent Velaque of Team Lakay.
