PAREF-SPRINGDALE Titans will have to renew its rivalry with the St. Louis College-Cebu Cardinals in the Regional Finals of the SM-National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) that will be held on Feb. 18 and 19 at the Lapu-Lapu City Hoops Dome.

The Titans, who defeated the Cardinals last Jan. 29 in the knockout championship in Minglanilla Sports Complex will have to face each other anew along with the Lapu-Lapu City Division champions Pajo National High School and Bohol champions Holy Spirit School of Tagbilaran Crusaders.

NBTC Cebu Division commission Al Solis explained that Lapu-Lapu being the host was supposed to have two representatives.

However, they decided to give the two slots to the Manduae City Division as they have the most number of participants in any of the Central Visayas Division tournaments.

“Lapu-Lapu was supposed to have two teams but they only have six teams competing compared to the 16 teams of Mandaue City, which is the most number of participating teams in all of the Central Visayas tournaments. So we decided to give the two slots to Mandaue with the champions Paref-Springdale and runner-up St. Louis College-Cebu,” Solis explained.

The two-day regional finals will pit Springdale against SLCC in knockout game and HSST against Pajo NHS in the other KO match.
