La Trinidad surrenderees host concert for rehab

LA TRINIDAD drug surrenderees will hold a concert for a cause on February 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Municipal Gym to fund their community based rehabilitation program.

With 235 active surrenderers from the 336, La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (LTMPS) together with their partnering agencies will hold the first ever concert for a cause themed “Unity for a chance, Kasangga sa Pagbabago.”

"The beneficiaries of the concert are the surrenderees. This is one way to source out funds for them since there's no alloted budget for their rehab yet. It is for their earlier rehabilitation to avoid relapse," LTMPS Chief of Police Senior Inspector Benson Macli-ing said.

In addition, the Macli-ing said some surrenderers will be performing during the concert while some of them had willingly accepted the task in preparation and selling of tickets.

Meanwhile, the surrendeees were already turned over to the Municipal Anti-Drug Advisory Council for their community rehab said Mayor Romeo Salda.

Other activities provided for the surrendeers are lectures and workshops on how to do away with illegal drug use and change of lifestyle in partnership with law operatives and the Department of Health and other concerned line agencies.
