A SUGARCANE farm worker was found dead at Crossing Sitio Malino, Hacienda Bacsay in Barangay Robles, La Castellana town Tuesday.
Police identified the fatality as Wincislao Calago, 53, of Sitio Sapua, Barangay Masulog.
Investigation showed that last Monday, Calago left the quarters at Hacienda Carmen in Pontevedra town, where he used to work.
His body was found around 7:30 a.m. the following day in a canal with multiple stab wounds on his stomach and a gunshot wound on his chest.
Recovered from the scene of the crime were a fired cartridge of .45 caliber pistol and a pair of slippers.
Calago was subjected to a post-mortem examination.
Police have yet to identify the suspect and establish the motive of the incident.
In Himamaylan City, 50-year-old Roberto Arjenal died after he was stabbed at Purok 4, Barangay Nabali-an Tuesday.
Police records showed that Arjenal was stabbed thrice by Romeo Salonga, 42, of Barangay Nabali-an due to grudge and jealousy.
Arjenal was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. (GYM)
