EFFECTIVE Monday, February 13, the flagdown rate for taxi services nationwide, except in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), will go back to P40 for the first 500 meters.
In a statement, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said there will be no increase in the rates for the succeeding meter/s and waiting time.

In CAR, the provisional flagdown fare would be P35 for the first 400 meters.
The taxi flagdown rate nationwide, set at P40 in 2011, was reduced to P30 on March 19, 2015 to reflect the low oil prices at the time. Taxi meters, however, were not re-calibrated and drivers were told to simply deduct P10 from the fare.
On Monday, February 6, LTFRB also approved a P1 increase in public utility jeepney fares in National Capital Region, Central Luzon and Southern Luzon. (SunStar Philippines)
