Star survives past Ginebra, 91-89

THE Star Hotshots stretched its lead to 2-0 having survived past Ginebra Gin Kings, 91-89, in Game 2 of their PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinals series at the Mall of Asia Arena last night.

The Hotshots capitalized on their quickness and second chance opportunities to escape from never-say die Gin Kings who made attempts to come back from the game, forcing a series of deadlocks in the dying minutes.

Raffy Reavis scored perfect at the free throw line following a blitz basket from Paul Lee in the last 58 seconds of the game.

Lee canned 17 points including two treys. He also swept all his five free throws on top of grabbing four rebounds.

Kevin Ferrer, for his part, hit 25 including five triples to lead scoring for the Tim Cone-coached Gin Kings.
