THE Don Gerardo Ouano Memorial National High School-Day (DGOMNHS) emerged as the champions of the Francisco L. Benedicto Inter-High School Quiz Bowl 2017, on Thursday morning, February 9.
The DGOMNHS, who took home P3,000 cash prize, topped the other 12 participating schools in the quiz bowl.
The school and its coach also received P2,000 each.
Tipolo National High School came in second and received P2,000. The school and its coach also got P1,500 respectively.
While the Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School, who took the third spot, went home with P1,500. A cash amounting to P1,000 was also given to the school and their coach.
The other participants are Canduman National High School, Maguikay National High School, Jagobiao National High School, Mandaue City Science High School, Don Gerardo Ouano Memorial Night High School, Tabok National High School, Mandaue Ebenezer Alliance Academy, Mandaue Christian School, and Academe Institute.
Each school is composed of three members who are currently in Grades 9 and 10.
The Francisco L. Benedicto Inter-High School Quiz Bowl is an annual meet organized by the Benedicto College to showcase excellence from public and private schools in Mandaue City and other cities in Metro Cebu.
The event aims to encourage students to excel in English, Science, Math, and current events.
For the past five years, Benedicto College has offered scholarships to the champion of the annual meet. (Alan Amoguis/PR)
