Duterte to spend Valentine's Day with family in Davao

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will celebrate his first Valentine's Day as the country’s highest elected official in his bailiwick in Davao City.

This was confirmed by his special assistant, Christopher "Bong" Go, in a text message sent to reporters.

Go said the President is expected to stay in his home province on February 14, Tuesday, with his loved ones.

"[The President will spend Valentine’s Day] in Davao only with family," Go said.

Since he assumed the presidency, the 71-year-old Chief Executive usually spends his weekdays at the Malacañang Palace in Manila and flies to Davao on weekends.

Last Sunday, the President went to Surigao after the province had been hit by 6.7-magnitude earthquake, killing at least eight individuals and leaving about hundreds injured. (SunStar Philippines)
