The University of San Jose-Recoletos Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble (DRAC) alumni foundation—spanning decades of performances and professional achievements since its founding in 1976 by Fr. Blas Montenegro, OAR, and Dr. Mila C. Espina, as the institutional standard bearer of the schools’ performing arts with the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) as the core department—will be launched at 5 p.m. sharp, Thursday, Feb 16, at the USJ-R Main Center for Performing Arts. This will be followed by excerpts from South Pacific featuring the Lhuillier scholars, CAS theater class, faculty, alumni and selected thespians of Speechcom and USJ-R graders. The event will have USJ-R president, Fr. Cristopher Maspara, OAR, as the inducting officer and spiritual adviser; Fr. Anthony Movillo, OAR, CAS dean Dr. Glenn Pajares; honorary consultants Dr. Amparito L. Lhuillier, Ramon Sebastian, Ambassador Francisco Benedicto and Joseph and Gloria Gaisano.
