Traya faces former champ in Poland

ELMO Traya will face former World Boxing Council (WBC) Baltic Silver light welterweight champion Michal Syrowatka next weekend in Poland. After losing his last outing, which was also in Poland, Traya is eager to avenge that defeat in a non-title fight against Syrowatka on Feb. 25. Traya, who just turned 20 years old this month, had his first international fight in Poland last Aug. 20 but lost to Przemyslaw Runowski in 10 rounds for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Inter-Continental light welterweight strap. “Elmo’s training is doing really well,” ALA Gym head trainer Edito Villamor told SunStar Cebu. “His trainer Michael Domingo just made a few adjustments regarding his defense.”

Traya is 11-2 with eight knockouts, while Syrowatka is 16-1 with five knockouts.
