NOAC overcomes BBC, 85-82 in Toby’s caging

NEGROS Occidental Athletic Club (NOAC) pulled off a close 85-82 win over Bacolod Basketball Club (BBC) in Toby's Sports Bacolod Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament ongoing at STI West Negros University gym.

NOAC jumpstarted a 22-14 blast in the opening canto behind Tommy Andren’s 11 points after three triples while Stephen Barneso added six points against Glen Trabasas’ six markers for BBC.

Allan Jaena and Ronan Batralo combined 14 points for a 23-13 run to take the half, 37-35 as Jobet Pedroso scored four points for NOAC.

Carl Ginete, Rexie Ureta, and Rommel Sombria anchored a 23-17 blast in the third and NOAC took back the lead at 58-54 entering the fourth.

Andren led NOAC with 14 points, Barneso and Pedreso added 10 each while Ginete made nine markers.

Jaena scored 16 points to pace BBC, Marvin Tan backstopped with 13,Trabasas and Philip Abong contributed 10 points each.

In the other match, Leif Baldonebro spearheaded POC with 16 points including four triples as Ryan Villaroman and Ryan Maningo added 12 each as they stomped over Ice Sports, 97-69.

Ice Sports relied on Born Enaya with 16 points, Luigi Herrera scored 11 points with three treys, and Elvin Diaz added 10 points.

Carlo Chu, meanwhile anchored 11 Degrees with 20 points alongside Jabby Valde with 10 for an 82-75 victory over Capitol.

Capitol banked on Marte Sellado’s 12 points, RR dela Cruz’s 11 points and Bert Celis’ nine markers. (HGD)
