PRO 7 pushes transfer of cops link to drugs

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Visayas recommended to Camp Crame the transfer of 29 non-commissioned officers to the province of Basilan.

Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, the PRO-Central Visayas director, said most of the cops were reinstated, after they were cleared of their grave misconduct charges because the complainants stopped pursuing their cases.

Some of the officers, he added, negotiated with the complainants, halting the trial in the process and forcing hearing officers to dismiss the case.

Naayos nila ang complainant...kaya na-reinstate tong mga polis na ito (They made deals with the complainant...that’s why the policeman was reinstated),” said Taliño.

The officers hold ranks of Police Officer 1 to Senior Police Officer 4.

Taliño, however, said it is not clear whether these officers from PRO 7 will join the 200 personnel of the National Capital Region Office (NCRPO) who were scolded by President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang last week.

Camp Crame has approved the reassignment of NCRPO personnel, who allegedly have links with illegal drugs and gambling operations, to Basilan.
