P6-M worth of 'shabu' seized in Lapu-Lapu drug bust

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas caught suspected drug supplier Rogelio Romo, 56, in a drug bust in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City, on Wednesday afternoon, February 15.

Seized from the suspect were more than 1 kilo of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," worth over P6 million.

The contraband was placed inside package with Chinese signs, making authorities believe the suspect sourced his supply from China.

On the same day, two separate anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, by operatives under the direct supervision of PDEA-Central Visayas Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz.

Arrested were Emar Anthony Zafra, 18; and a seventeen-year-old male.

Zafra was arrested in Poblacion II and he yielded five packs of "shabu" weighing more or less 3 grams and worth P5,000, while his cohort, Dax Robante, eluded arrest.

In Cogon District, operatives caught a seventeen-year-old suspect, who yielded two packs of "shabu" weighing approximately 1 gram and worth P1,000. (KAL)
