WHIPPING boys no more.

Bulua National High School racked up three-straight wins in the ongoing First Cagayan de Oro Public Schools Basketball Challenge with Canitoan National High School as its latest victim via a 57-46 spanking.

The Bulua cagers, who used to occupy the bottom in previous tournaments, crushed Kauswagan National High School, 63-44 in the opener, and followed it up with a thrilling 37-34 escape over Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (Mogchs).

Bulua’s 3-0 start was a positive transformation from the past that saw them hardly reaching the wild cards of the Oro Speed Inter-Public Schools Basketball Tournament also held at West City Central School’s covered court in Barangay Carmen.

“Nilambo og maayo sila kay naa ma'y consistent nga programa alang sa eskwelahang pampubliko (They thrived due to the consistent program for public schools),” said tournament director Raul Fuentes.

In their next outing, Bulua guns for a sweep in bracket A elimination opposite Indahag National High School.

Canitoan National High School and Kauswagan National High School shared the second spot with identical 1-1 win-loss slate.

Both Indahag and Mogchs remain winless at 0-1 and 0-2 records, respectively.
