THE Consulate General of Indonesia will hold the first Indonesia Food and Beverage Expo and the Indonesian Culinary Festival on March 17 to 19 to promote more Indonesian products in preparation for the Davao-General Santos-Bitung Roro route to be launched on April 28.
During the weekly forum at Habi at Kape at Abreeza Ayala Malls Thursday, February 16, Indonesian Consul General Secretary Berlian Napitupulu said they will conduct the first Indonesian Food and Beverage Expo at the House of Indonesia, Juna Subdivision on March 17 to 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will feature different Indonesian food and beverages. There will also be a one-on-one business matching of Indonesian businessmen with interested local businessmen in the city.
The activity will also feature a cooking demo, Indonesian art and cultural performance, Indonesian food corner, and an Indonesian caravan.
On the same days, at 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be an Indonesian Culinary Festival at Marco Polo Hotel. It will feature an Indonesian Cooking Demo, Culinary Talk Show, and Art and Cultural Performances as well.
The consulate general had several planned activities for the entire year including the bringing in of interested Filipino businessmen to Jakarta on October for the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2017.
“I will facilitate all (interested) Filipino businessmen to come to Indonesia. I will provide free hotel and free local transportation. What you will pay only is the plane ticket. We will take care of you during your stay in Jakarta. As many (businessmen) as possible. I’ve been telling this to 10 cities already. There will be some kind of screening,” Napitupulu said.
Aside from promotion of Indonesia in Davao City, Napitupulu said they are going to be part of the different fiestas in Mindanao to showcase Indonesian Music, Arts, and Cultural performances.
On the last week of February, they are going to perform at the 28th Kalilangan Festival of General Santos City, to be followed by a Marching Band Parade performance on March 16 at Roxas Avenue, Davao City in line with Araw ng Dabaw and on August 20 for Kadayawan Festival.
For the first week of September, they are also set to perform at the 1st Budayaw Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga) Festival on Culture and the Arts. This will be held at General Santos City, in line with their Tuna Festival.
By the second week of November, they will perform at the 5th Muna To International Music and Arts Festival in Sarangani Province.
