'Higher Law' book launching on February 25

A TECHNOLOGY and social media lawyer from quake-hit Surigao is launching his first book on February 25.

The book, titled "Higher Law," is written by Manuel "MC" Gordon and contains stories and articles based on human experiences. It is set to be launched at 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. of February 25 at The Gallery in Ayala Cebu.

"The book actually admits a lot of mistakes in life," said Gordon, stressing he mingled with different people and included his insights, realizations and quotations in the book.

It is like a "hugot line" book for "hugot generation," he said.

The book has three chapters with 15 articles in it. Every after article, there is a portion of the book Gordon calls as "Lighter Law."

"Higher Law" is a book series, with approximately three to four series per year. It is a campaign or an advocacy on values that have been lost, said Gordon.

It is an effective tool for deepening inner being, he added.

Gordon said one of his favorite stories in the book was found in Article 3.06 that talks about simplicity and a story about his uncle.

He said it took him a year to write the book, stressing he writes every Sunday for an hour to write an article.

Published by FarLeft Publishing House, the book costs P397.

In March, Gordon will go to Manila to distribute the book. He said he is also negotiating with the National Bookstore.

Asked if there is a second book, Gordon said he plans to have it as a complication of contributions from different writers. (Tovya Kaiko Galeon, USJR intern/SunStar Philippines)
