Dela Rosa to keynote 80th charter day celebration

PHILIPPINE National Police Director-General Ronald De la Rosa has been invited to keynote the 80th Charter Day Anniversary of Zamboanga City on February 26.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has formally invited Dela Rsoa to grace the celebration marking the charter anniversary and other activities highlighting this city's firm commitment to security.

Salazar said the commemorative program on February 26 will kick off with the Grand Civic-Military Parade at 3 p.m. from the fire station to Paseo del Mar.

It will be held concurrently with the Za boanga Drum and Lyre Competition.

Zamboanga City was formally inaugurated as a chartered city on February 26, 1937, making it one of the oldest chartered cities in the Philippines.

It also marks the day when the first set of City officials, led by Mayor Nicasio Valderoza, was sworn into office.

Meanwhile, Salazar is scheduled to present to Dela Rosa during his visit the soon to be completed P29 million new police headquarters.

Salazar said the project manifests her commitment to peace and security under the priority program thrust Security Health and Education (SHE).
