3 foreigners wanted for various sex offenses

AUTHORITIES are still looking for the three foreigners accused with trafficking and various sexual offenses involving several Filipino children along with alleged Aussie pedophile Peter Gerard Scully.

Scully's supposed Filipino accomplices Liezyl Margallo, Alexander Lao, and Ma. Dorothea Chia have all been arrested.

Lao was arrested on November 11, 2016 in Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Margallo was nabbed on January 25, 2017 at Malapascua Island, Cebu while Chia fell to the hands of the police last February 16, at Magsaysay street, Barangay 18, Cagayan de Oro City.

All the co-accused are facing trafficking in persons and other child offenses including the 69 counts of criminal cases filed by the Department of Justice against Scully.

Scully was also facing a separate six charges for qualified trafficking in persons and five counts of rape by sexual assault along with other co-accused Carme Ann Alvarez, who is now currently on trial.

City prosecutor Merlyn Uy said local and international law enforcement authorities are stepping up efforts to locate the whereabouts of Christian Johann Rothe, Haniel Caetano De Oliveira and Marshall Ruskin all of whom remain at large.

Uy said Oliveira is a Brazilian doctor and Scully's friend who allegedly sends him money via money remittance center either through Lao or Chia to run the business of producing pornographic videos featuring the tortured and abused young children.

Oliveira was also one of Scully's supposed overseas clients who pays for the videos and photos being sold online.

Uy said Ruskin and Rothe, an American and German, respectively, were also Scully's clients who were identified by one of the victims.

"Both chatted with the victim online in the presence of Margallo and solicited/paid for porn videos and photos of the victim doing sexual acts with Margallo," Uy said.

Uy added that Scully allegedly sold one of the minor victims to Rothe for P100,000.

"Fortunately, that victim escaped when she was told that the German was coming to get her," Uy said.

Uy said the foreign suspects have pending arrest warrants for the same charges which are all non-bailable.

Uy said Rothe and Ruskin have been coming in and out of the country.
