5 Negrenses killed, 2 injured

FIVE Negrenses were killed while two others were injured in separate incidents in the past three days.

Demetrio Abellar, a member of Task Force Crusader in Bacolod City, was found dead at Barangay Zone 15 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, February 18.

Investigation showed that Abellar, a resident of Barangay Felisa, was driving a motorcycle that hit a gutter. He succumbed to head injuries.

Abellar was found 10 meters away from the accident site.

Farmer Benjie Acibo, 38, died after he figured in an accident while driving a motorcycle around 1:10 a.m at Sitio Cama, Barangay Malabuhan, Siaton, Negros Oriental Sunday, February 19.

Acibo succumbed to head injuries.

Stabbed to death

Still in Negros Oriental, Jeany Abrio, 54, was killed by his elder brother at Purok 6, Barangay Poblacion in Mabinay town on Saturday.

Investigation showed that Jeany and his brother Jaime Abrio, 60, were on their way home from a drinking session when a heated argument ensued between them around 10:20 p.m.

Jaime stabbed Jeany using a kitchen knife and fled.

The suspect was arrested at his house after 40 minutes.

In Negros Occidental, a man was stabbed to death by his two brothers at Sitio Lamak, Barangay Buluangan in San Carlos City last Friday, February 17.

Police identified the fatality as Bonifacio Canghagas, 49, wherein he succumbed to multiple stab wounds.

Bonifacio was stabbed by his younger brothers Garciano, 45 and Basilio, 43, who both fled.

Injured

Over at Himamaylan City, a casual employee at City Hall was stabbed by a laborer at Bangga 13, Barangay 4 around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Herman Encelencia, 33, was walking outside a gymnasium when he was attacked by Pablo Tabuena, 57, due to grudge, police records showed.

Tabuena was reportedly drunk. Encelencia sustained a lone stab wound on his chest.

In another incident, Jingles Montes, 47, of Hacienda Binanlutan, Barangay 20, Victorias City, was stabbed by Norberto Dominguez, 56, at Barangay 19-A around 4:15 a.m.

Montes sustained multiple stab wounds and was brought to a hospital. (GYM)
