THE Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday ordered the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to place on its lookout list three more suspects in the car rental scheme dubbed as rent-tangay.

Placed under the Immigration's monitoring are Ana Pamplona Borlon, Lea Constantino Rosales, and Rafaela Anunciacion.

The three are subjects of the ongoing probe of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on the car rental scheme, in action to the directive of the DOJ.

“I enjoin all our immigration officers and everyone concerned to strictly discharge their duties. This rent-tangay scam has victimized a lot of persons, let us bring those responsible to our courts so that justice will be served," Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre in the order said.

Just last Friday, the DOJ has directed the BI to place the alleged mastermind in the scam, Tychicus Historillo Nambio, on its lookout bulletin.

Nambio, who is now facing estafa cases, is under the custody of Biñan police.

The syndicate perpetrating the car rental scheme victimizes car owners by promising them rental income only to find out later that their vehicles were sold to people without their permission. (SunStar Philippines)
