Ready for tri season

THE Team Challenge defending champion Omega Pro Triathlon Team IS all set for another season of Tri United in Subic Bay this Sunday.

Omega Pro will be fielding 16 athletes for the first leg of the race, which features a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40K bike and 10K run.

Omega Pro’s team manager Tonyson Luther Lee said that the team is all set and will leave for Subic this Thursday.

One of the team’s top triathletes, Paul Jumamil, will race in the men’s elite category, while the rest of the triathletes will suit up in the age group divisions for the Team Challenge.

Banjo Norte and national team member for duathlon Joland Olmilla will headline Omega Pro in the men’s 18-24 division. Olmilla, a new recruit for the team, is going to debut in his first triathlon race.

Actor Paul Jake Castillo, Kristiane Lim, Welmar Saavedra, Frederick Castañeda, Ishmael Cecille and Brian Borling will all be competing in the men’s 30-34 division.

The other male members are Johnny Ferniz, who will race in the 25-29, Edwin Yu, who will compete in the 35-39 and Alton Amor, who will take part in the 45-49.

The women’s division will be represented by Cianyl Jamae Gonzalez in the 18-24 division, Feelin Torres in the 25-29 and Lorna Amor in the 45-49.

Every rider will be given corresponding points, which will be credited to the team, based on their ranking and time in the races. The team with the most points at the end of the series will win the Team Challenge title.
